June 23, 201313 yr Lately, when changing to the new rc version, I have been removing the flash drive and bringing it to my desktop PC to copy the files. Am I able to do this over the network without any issues? I'm assuming you can since it's recommended to use an internal USB port, but I just wanted to make sure that there are no issues backing up the files and installing new files to the USB drive over the network. Since over the past 2.5 years I have always removed the flash drive to do anything to the files.
June 23, 201313 yr The release notes address this issue. See here: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=UnRAID_Server_Version_5.0-beta_Release_Notes Refer to Step 1 in each case.
June 23, 201313 yr There's generally no reason to remove the flash drive from your UnRAID box. You can simply Stop the array; then copy the new files to the Flash drive; then do a reboot of the system from the Web GUI. I've never removed my flash drive from either of my UnRAID boxes ... one is almost 5 years old; the other about a year.
