I have been using utorrent for a while but have given up trying to get it to put downloads onto the array from the cache drive, so i gave transmission another whirl, i have read about making a change to the .json file to select the download directory which i have set as /mnt/user/torrents/downloads, however, access to this file is denied unless i change 'run as user' from nobody to admin which is me and then it lets me edit it but when i change it back to nobody it gets written over and put back to default //downloads, it seems to be ok now if i leave it as admin but when i add a torrent i have to right click on the torrent and change the location to /mnt/user/torrent/downloads as it seems to be defaulting to //downloads from the gui even though the .json file has been changed , if i dont do it as soon as the torrent has started it just stops with an 'access denied error'...what am i doing wrong ?

 

Does anyone have a good preconfigured .json i could borrow with an explanation of its settings ?

have to restart transmission to force it to reread the .json file.
