June 29, 201313 yr Hi, I am just starting out.. so excuse me if I am asking a stupid question.... When using unRAID Server 5.0-rc15a what command should I use to preclear a 3TB WD Red drive? Should it be preclear_disk.sh /dev/sda? or Should it be preclear_disk.sh -A /dev/sda? Also, What Default partition format should I have? I have 3 TB WD Red drives and 3TB WD Green Drives, also some 2TB Seagates.... Thanks...

(The -A and -a options are silently ignored on any drive over 2.2TB) You should set the "default" preference to MBR-alligned in the unRAID disk settings preferences. Especially if a new server. That setting will work for ALL disks except a 2TB WD EARS disk with a "jumper" added to electrically compensate for its brain-damaged firmware.
June 29, 201313 yr Author Thanks Joe L. Also, What Default partition format should I have? I have 3 TB WD Red drives and 3TB WD Green Drives, also some 2TB Seagates.... What do I do if I have a 2TB WD EARS disk with a "jumper"? Should I still set default to MBR-alligned? ALso, How do i cancel a preclear once it is started?
