June 30, 201313 yr My server has been working fine for a while until today. I had spun down all the drives to prepare to move it to a different house. After they spun down I was unable to access it via the browser. I am currently running UnRaid 5.0 beta 14. I moved it to a different house and still having the same issue. I know that I have it set to obtain IP address automatically but have no way to tell if it's actually pulling an address from the router. I don't have a way to get access to the server to post a syslog unless anybody knows another way? I hope my server didn't just completely die, can anybody provide some insight? Thank you. Update: Ok I hooked up a monitor and keyboard to the server and it looks to be booting up with no issues, just cant access it from the browser.
June 30, 201313 yr You won't be able to just open the browser and "test it" if you don't know the IP at the new house... Are your shares showing up on your own machine? The only way you can get your unraid IP us by looking at the DHCP client list on a router... or hook up a screen and see what's what. It's most likely a plugin not starting up - this is the cause of the vast majority of UI unresponsiveness. If you get the IP you can always try telnet
June 30, 201313 yr Author I was finally able to get the IP Address and get to the server through the browser. Example xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080 works but when I try to use Unraid:8080 it doesnt like it. Not sure how that got screwed up. Strange.
June 30, 201313 yr The default name for the unRAID server is: Tower, and unless you changed the name of your server you won't find it. There are several reasons why your client machine can't find your server by it's host name. If your client is a Windows box and your unRAID is a browse master then it will find it. Since you can connect via IP address check under "Settings" -- "Identification" from the unRAID web GUI for the name of your server. That's a good place to start.
