Samsung HD103UI 1TB Ecogreen Drive

Featured Replies

I replaced a burning hot 500 gig drive with this 1TB drive.  Initially very happy.  Everything seemed to be working great.  Drive is cold, cold, cold.  And 5400 rpm drive performance on par with other supposedly faster drives in array.  Only one complaint.  It doesn't seem like it's automatically spinning down.  I can do the manual spin down of all drives and it complies with the rest.  Might be taking 15 to 20 seconds longer than it used to though.  But I just don't think that drive is doing the automatic spin down like it's supposed to.

Any suggestions?  I realize this is a relatively small thing, but it's just the kind of thing that might drive me insane.

You dont say which version of unRAID your using but i assume 4.3.

The beta fixes this

I'm using 4.3.3

I may have jumped to conclusions.  I still think that its taking longer than the specified time to spin down, but it does eventually spin down on it's own.

It is a known issue solved by the beta.

I am using 4.3.3

And it does not work.  Every so often for whatever reason proper spin down does occur, but more often then not there is no spin down.  Is there anyone else using this drive model?  Does the automatic spin down work for you?

Thats your fix
