July 3, 201313 yr I've followed the Ars guide to putting your iTunes library on a NAS, and everything worked fine. I have a NFS share called iTunes that is mounted on my Mac as /Volumes/iTunes. I have a folder called Media within this share. In iTunes I've directed my library path to /Volumes/iTunes/Media. So far so good. My iTunes library functions as in, I can put music in this folder and import to iTunes and it plays. However, when I continue with the Ars guide and go to Library --> Organize Library I am getting permission issues saying I can't modify my iTunes Media folder or a folder within it. If I try to download any of my iTunes purchases, or iTunes Match purchases from other devices it fails. I have all the correct permissions on my iTunes folder for all users (RW). I have correct permissions on my Users/Shared folder (RW). I only noticed this since I started using iTunes Match. Before that I ripped 99.9% of my music from CD so I haven't bought music from iTunes since I started using unraid. I am running rc10 because it works well enough for me that I don't feel the need to upgrade till a stable release comes out. Is anyone able to have their iTunes library on their unraid server, buy songs from iTunes, and everything be honky dory? If so please share. I spent two hours on the phone with Apple care doing a remote login session. The only resolution was to return my library location to ~/Users/Me/Music/iTunes/etc.... What's going on here?
