AOC-SASLP-MV8 and ESXI

Featured Replies

So am unable to see hard drives to add datastores to the ESXI server.  I have the AOC-SASLP-MV8 card attached and during boot it does show all the drives attached.  When I go to add datastore it does not show any drives.  Also I do see that ESXI does see the AOC-SASLP-MV8 card but shows no drives.

Can anyone help?

No one has any suggestions?

What are you trying to accomplish here?

You want to use HDD's attached to a saslp as datastore?

Wouldn't it be better to hook a hdd a SATA-port on the MB?

I haven't tried using my sas2lp with attached HDD as a datastore.

Why are you trying to do this?

I am running with this card in esxi, use passthru to give the complete card to the unraid vm and then use the onboard sata connectors to attach drives that you want to run esxi itself from... Works great for me..

Thanks for the info.  I am waiting for my backwards sff-8087 cables to come in so I was trying to start the project with just using the cables attached to my SASLP-MV8 card.
