Extremely Slow Speed Copying from Server

Featured Replies

Hi, I've been using unraid for years now, I'm on 5.0 beta14 and haven't changed anything in a long time. A few days ago, videos played from the server started stopping and starting, essentially becoming useless.

I checked copying files from the server to a drive on my network, wired through gigabit internet and I'm getting around 1MB/sec and less, which is crazy slow. I was getting around 70-80 MB before. I still get those speeds copying stuff TO the server, but not the other way around. I really have no idea what the issue could be.

I tried copying the log to a text file and posting it here, but it says it's too big. I'd really appreciate some help in posting the log or solving this issue. Thanks.

Does the Web GUI show any "red-balled" disks?

If so, that would significantly slow transfer speed, since it has to read from all of your disks to emulate the bad one.

If not, check your switch and router ports ... I've seen ports fail in a manner that they still transfer, but at VERY slow speeds (like you're seeing).    Depending on your topology, this could take a while, as you need to test every connection ... try using both a different Ethernet cable and a different port on the intervening device (switch or router).
