Disabled Disk

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Built myself an unRAID server a few weeks ago using version 5.0-rc15a.  It's been happily running with no problems since, up until this morning.

Woke up to the main page of webGUI with device staus showing one drive as disabled by unRAID.  So following the instructions in the wiki, I tried obtaining a SMART report on it, which reported back:

Smartctl open device: /dev/sdd failed: No such device

Powered down the server, and checked data and power connections on both the drive, and motherboard/PSU. Restarted it and tried grabbing the SMART report again which completed.  Run a short SMART test on the drive, and got the report for that as well. And it's now running a long SMART test. Only problem is I don't really know what I'm looking at with the reports.  Any help would be much appreciated, have attached both reports that I've got so far.

Thanks

Drive looks fine. Next time save the syslog before power down.

Thanks.  Yeah I thought about saving the syslog as soon as I hit power down, but obviously too late by then.  Have de-assigned it from the array, started it, stopped it and re-assigned it again, so it's now starting a Data Rebuild, looking at taking around 36 hours so will check up on it tomorrow evening.

Disk rebuilt fine, ran parity check and everything is ok. Thanks.
