July 7, 201312 yr I am currently 21hrs into a pre-clear with an estimated 5hrs remaining to finish this 2TB drive. Currently the array is offline. My wife would very much like to watch a movie, she has become addicted to having a server at the ready. Thank you Joe! If I bring the array on line, will it make the pre-clear abort, or will it continue to work in the back ground. For what its worth, I am using the pre-clear script via a telnet connection and not screen.
July 7, 201312 yr As long as you don't close the Telnet session, you can bring the array on line and watch a movie Pre-clear runs independently of UnRAID ... they're just different tasks in Linux. But if you close the Telnet session, that will also close active tasks in that session (i.e. the pre-clear) ... so be sure you do NOT close that !!
