[SOLVED] Power outage - Stuck at Verifying DMI Pool Data

Featured Replies

Hello!

I am running ver 4.7 and my unraid system was running perfect until the power outage for about 5sec.

Now my server will boot and stuck at "Verifying DMI Pool Data". Please help!

Here are some facts:

-At boot up, I can see all my 4 drives and USB Storage Device

-Inserting the USB drive into a Windows machine allowed me to see all the files

-I tried the following but no luck:

  -Power cycle a few times

  -Recopy bzimage and bzroot

  -Re run Make_bootable.bat

-Bios is the same with booting from USB-HDD

I am pretty sure this is a common issue. Please help me resolve this or any suggestions.

Thank you!!!

Tom

Update 7/13/2013 06:20pm=============================

Thanks Joe and dgaschk! I finally fixed this issue a different way.

I did the chkdsk on the flash drive and everything is fine. This explains the problem is not necessarily with the flash drive.

I used another flash drive with free license and experienced the same problem. I read in another tread that some people actually pulled out their HDD. So I did the same and the system boot past the Verifying DMI point!

Solutions:

-I pulled out all the SATA cables from the motherboard

-Ran Memtest and everything was fine.

-Ran Unraid OS (without the HDD) and eveything was fine.

-Reconnect all the SATA cable to the HDD

-Recopied the backup Flash drive files (so I have all the original config since I executed Make_bootable earlier)

-Reboot system and voila!

My server is now back online and busy doing parity check.

Thanks for your suggestion and help. I hope this will be helpful to someone else with this annoying problem.

Run check disk on the flash in a Mac or PC.

Make sure your boot disk is still set to be the flash drive.
