[SOLVED] Update from 4.6 Share no longer accessible

Featured Replies

I can navigate via the network as the workgroup is tied out (TOWER\) and read write to

  • Flash & Sub-folders
    Disk 1-4

When I navigate to BackupFolder (our Share name) either directly or via Disk1-4 I receive:

  • Windows cannot access \\TOWER\BackupFolder
You do not have permission to access \\TOWER\BackupFolder.  Contact your network administrator to request access.

The Share is setup under SMB, it is set to Export Public,

Any Ideas?

Thanks!

Thanks dgaschk - sadly I am still struggling.  I can add a new public share and access that with no issue from any of our computers  but the BackupFolder which has always been accessible in the past is no longer.

I am trying to run 'new permissions' again.

Delete any save credentials and reboot the clients.

Well..

Now we can access BackupFolder and SOME of the subfolders....  very very strange.

I am trying to run 'new permissions' again.

The 'New permissions' script can take a very long time to run-- depending on the number of files and folders.

As I remember reading, it does return a message when it is completed and the Linux command prompt will return after the script finishes.

Frank1940 - thank you.  This could be the issue... Ill kick it back off and leave the browser open overnight.

'New permissions' Took about 3 days to run - all accessible now.

Thanks crew
