SSD Cache drive: Formatting issues

Featured Replies

I have just installed an old SSD to use as Cache drive. It shows in unRaid's main menu with the incorrect label. It is being shown as an older, WDAAKS drive that is not in the box. This SSD is an Intel. unMenu identifies it properly.

I have run mkreiserfs, but the file system is still showing as: "isw_raid_member". If I select /dev/sdb in unRaid Main > Device as the cache, (despite the label being incorrect), it seems to function. However, I am getting no difference in speeds after setting my "TV" and "MOVIE" shares to use the cache drive.

I know nothing about formatting in Linux, and really don't know where to go from here to troubleshoot.

UnRAID will format the disk. Assign it to the cache slot and then click the format button.
