July 23, 201312 yr HI All, I posted this on a server build thread, but I am thinking it belongs here. I got all of my components and constructed my new server. I am having some issues getting unraid to a place where it can start. Here is what I have done- 1) I reformatted my Sony micro USB boot drive, copied over the 4.7 release, and copied my pro.key to the config directory 2) The box would not boot into unRaid- so I brought the micro thumb drive back to my windows pc, and ran as administrator the batch file like "make bootable" 3) Now Unraid boots, and my 4 drives are recognized - they are listed under "Devices" 4) I assign them (1 parity, 3 data), BUT NOTHING HAPPENS. I cannot start array, as "No Array Disc Devices Have Been Assigned." ... but this is untrue 5) Log file indicates the following: "could not read superblock from /boot/config/super.dat 6) super.dat is not there, so I "touched" it to create one. The size never changes, and stays at zero, no matter how may times I try to assign devices 7) Perhaps some kind of permission error? Also, These drives have no jumpers installed- should they? Thanks for the assistance-
July 23, 201312 yr Attach a syslog. What are the drive models? Jumpers are not required for any disk. The jumper fiasco only applied to pre-4.7 systems.
July 23, 201312 yr Author Attached. Drives are 3TB WD30EZRX SATA 6GB (green from Newegg) I have 4 installed syslog_2.txt
July 23, 201312 yr 4.7 doesn't support 3Tb disks. If you want to use disks larger than 2Tb you must use 5.0 (currently RC16c)
