August 2, 201312 yr Hey, my system should be in my sig. I think this is a hardware issue since the same thing happens whether I have unRAID plugged into the USB port or not. Basically when I shutdown my system, it shuts down. But then 5 seconds later, it just boots back up. The only way I can keep it shutdown is to shut it down and then flip the power switch in the back before it starts booting up again. I didn't used to have this problem, and I don't know when this started. Any ideas? Thanks guys.
August 2, 201312 yr You have not by any chance got something like 'Wake on LAN' enabled? If you have then having any client switched on could cause this to happen.
August 2, 201312 yr Author How would I check this? I tried unplugging the ethernet cable, and it gave me the same behavior.
August 2, 201312 yr Keyboards or mice can power on machines. Your power button might also be stuck. Sent from a phone, sorry for any typos
August 4, 201312 yr Author I'm experiencing the same problem even with the keyboard, the mouse, and the ethernet unplugged. I'm pretty sure the power button is fine. I imagine it's something to do with either the power supply, the way the power switch is hooked up to the motherboard, or perhaps a setting in the bios. Any other ideas would be appreciated. I'll update this thread if I figure it out.
August 4, 201312 yr Had this problem on my Acer EasyStore H340 (originally a Windows Home Server box). I never could get it to shutdown and stay that way under unRAID, but WHS was fine. I tried every possible setting in the BIOS, updated the BIOS, ran headless, with and without a keyboard/mouse, with and without ethernet, and never reached a solution.
