hi all

 

before i upgraded from 4.7 to 5.0-rc16c these shares use to work perfect

 

my media streamer used to be be able to pick up all my user shares

 

since upgrading to 5.0-rc16c, i can only access the shares by UNC and they no longer show up in network places

 

ive turned SMB and NFS on but doesnt seem to fix the issue, not sure what else it could be?

 

both my media streamer and 2x windows 7 machines dont see the shares any more

Let's start with the first thing.  Did you run the "New Permissions' script in the 'Utils' tab?

 

It can take a loooong time (depending on the number of files and directories--- hours and hours) for this script to finish.  So be sure that you wait until it says it is done! 

 

If you still have the problem after that has finished, report back and you will be given advice on getting SMB to work.  (It is sometimes more like witchcraft than science!)
