August 7, 201312 yr Hi there, I have unraid 5rc10 with 4TB array and 500GB cache . Today I've noticed my chace drive is full... How / when files are being deleted from the cache and written to the array ? Do I need to manually move files now from cache to array ? Thanx.
August 7, 201312 yr Normally this happens automatically at 3:40am, and you should see this in your syslog. Attach complete syslog. See this thread
August 7, 201312 yr I have my cache drive set to move the content every hour or every two hours. At the top of the hour. run every two hours at the top of the hour 0 */2 * * * run every hour at the top of the hour 0 */1 * * *

See this thread Maybe that didnt happen because I had the php error on main page : unraid strftime(): It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings....
August 8, 201312 yr Try running the mover manually to see if it's a problem with the files not being moved (due to improper array setup) or that the mover is simply not being started automatically.
August 8, 201312 yr So you saying that the files will be deleted after mover script have transferred files off cache drive? I noticed that i have to delete the files off the cache even thou I have it set at 3 am. edit: looks like i might not have it set up correctly. Also should I have the same shared folder (movies) in cache drive even thou I have a shared foldeer (movies) I just drag and drop the files in the cache drive.. (perhaps this is why its not working correctly? )
August 8, 201312 yr Any files in directories on the cache get moved to the array. So, the files in the Movies directory on the cache gets combined into the Movies directories on the array disks according to the user share settings (split level, allocation and include/exclude disks). Try going to the Share settings and click on the Move Now to invoke the mover. Check the log after a while and see if there are any errors where moving the files failed.
