August 17, 201312 yr Got 1TB Red drive as my cache drive. Was pre-clearer, added and formatted with no problems. Settings | Share Settings | Use Disk Cache = Yes I have enabled several shares to use the disk cache. However, new writes still go directly to the array with the cache still completely empty. I have my included disk set for disk1,disk2. I'm assuming I don't need to make that disk1,disk2,cache? I tried, but still had no effect. What am I missing here? Feels like I'm missing something very elementary.
August 18, 201312 yr What is your Split Level and the path of files you are trying to add? The Split Level setting might be constraining where new files/Folders are allowed to be created.
August 18, 201312 yr Split level doesn't apply to the use of the cache disk. Settings | Share Settings | Cache Min Free Space could be causing it.
August 19, 201312 yr Author This was resolved. A reboot was needed to fix the problem. After the reboot the shares starting using the cache drive just fine. Someone should add that to the documentation when enabling a cache drive.
