August 18, 201312 yr I've been having a lot of issues during the past 2 weeks with potential drive failures and/or a bad connection. And still unsure if I have lost any data or not. I'm am currently in middle of replacing a supposedly bad HD, and yet another data rebuild. But during (and still in progress) the rebuild, I seem to have empty shares which I think should not be the case? So currently during the rebuild, none of my machines are able to access anything. And it takes a LONG time to rebuild!! Honestly... Although unraid has been rock solid these past 2 years and I'm a pro licensed user, I've been considering a change to FreeNas lately due to the long down time on a rebuild.
August 18, 201312 yr The shares should be available, albeit slower, during a rebuild. The hardware may not be up do the task...
August 19, 201312 yr I definitely have no problems accessing media from the array while a disk is being rebuilt. It is even possible to write to the array while the rebuild is in progress although the write speed is very low and it slows down the rebuild process.
