AOC-SAS2LP-MV8 Installation help

Good evening all,

 

i have decided its time to beef up my unraid server so have finally, after much searching, purchased a AOC-SAS2LP-MV8.

 

I have installed the card abd breakout cable, disabled int13 and tried endless drives but it always says no hard drives detected, is there something i am missing or could anyone pleas help.

Are you sure you have the correct breakout cable?    There are forward and reverse cables -- you need a forward breakout cable.

molex 79575-6004

 

Does that make any sense to you?

On a side-note, does anyone know what the 3-pin white connector on the top of the SAS2 card is? What should I be plugging into it? Do I need to use it? Can't find anything in the manual that mentions it. It does not appear to exist on the previous generation of this card.

Ben,

 

You may have to re-flash the SAS2LP-MV8 firmware to get it working. See this thread ( http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=29052.0 ) for two examples of where this successful fixed the symptoms you are seeing.
