A wild segfault appears!

Featured Replies

On 5.0rc16c (default GUI, not the SF-inspired one), the web interface became unaccessible today.

Telnet'd in, killed the running emhttp process, started a new one:

1]+  Segmentation fault      (core dumped) /usr/local/sbin/emhttp

:o

This is expected. emhttp is not restartable.

Eeks! How does one stop the array / restart the server?

With the webGUI.

:)

... the problem here is the that emhttp (the Web GUI) isn't running  :)

... makes it difficult to use it to stop the array !!

This can be difficult.  If you've got the CleanPowerDown package installed, you can possibly just press the power button and it will shut the system down.      If you're running UnMenu, the PowerDown button on the User Scripts page may do it.    Otherwise, the instructions here may help:  http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=Console#To_cleanly_Stop_the_array_from_the_command_line
