August 29, 201312 yr Hi Guys, I use a really neat little tool on windows to index and search my pc. It works like a charm and it's nice to have an instantaneous search of ALL of your files. The app is called Everything and it's from Void Tools. Is there any way to quickly search the file system of the unraid box? perhaps something to search the cache directories and instantly return a result? hmm? Thanks for your time.
September 1, 201312 yr I did three seconds of research and it appears that Everything only works with Windows and NTFS file systems. Meaning it won't work. IT requires that the server be installed locally on the computer with the drives, so mapping a network drive is not possible. They don't currently make an everything server for linux and I don't see any real alternatives, but I could be mistaken. you would think SOMEONE had made an instant search for linux that supports the appropriate filesystems for unraid.
