August 29, 201312 yr *I had originally thought this was a SimpleFeatures issue, so posted in that thread, but now am not so sure. * Just installed SimpleFeatures this evening and now I can't get on to webGUI, and none of my shares are starting. Not sure what I have done wrong - I installed them by putting the plugin files in the plugin folder! Tried deleting the plugins but some how it seems to reappear on every reboot. My syslog is here: http://pastebin.com/YySC4iee I can still connect to the server using UnMenu and telnet. Any ideas what has gone wrong!
August 29, 201312 yr I don't see any entries from the emhttp system, i.e. text search for "emhttp:" and there are no entries; therefore that system is not starting and not running. It might be better to pull all the SimpleFeatures plugins (move to another folder temporarily) and see if you can get to the default webGUI running. For me it's easier to power down the server and work on the USB key on another workstation. If you can get emhttp running the webGUI should show up as well as you having a workable system. You might want to slowly bring back in SimpleFeatures once you get a stable system running. I hope this helps! Edit-- from an earlier post on completely removing SimpleFeatures: (thanks to sacretagent): check /boot/plugins /boot/extra for any remaining simple feature packages delete and reboot
August 30, 201312 yr Author I've tried deleting everything in plugins folder, but I don't seem to have an extra folder to delete.
August 30, 201312 yr Author I plugged in the USB drive and deleted all references to simplefeatures, now it doesn't seem to reinstall on every boot. however I still can't get on the webGUI. http://pastebin.com/TNV844rF My syslog is above. I am able to boot if I use safemode, I had a look at my go config and removed a reference to SNAP as this something else I installed last night which could be causing the issue.
August 30, 201312 yr Author Considering just starting again, however want to make sure I will be able to keep working with the array that I currently have. Also just noticed there is a new release of UnRaid. If I wanted to wipe my USB stick and reinstall UnRaid what files would I need to transfer across so that I won't have to set up my shares etc. again?
August 30, 201312 yr Hello, From the looks of your syslog things are starting up better Since you mentioned things are OK when you boot in safe mode...... forum member dgaschk has a handy guide in his signature: Stock go file: #!/bin/bash # Start the Management Utility /usr/local/sbin/emhttp & Safe Mode, I think, is essentially using the stock go file. So perhaps you could check what the condition of your existing go file and conform it to the default and see if webGUI returns. If I wanted to wipe my USB stick and reinstall UnRaid what files would I need to transfer across so that I won't have to set up my shares etc. again? From Tom's announcement of v5.0-i386, http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=29096.0, If you are currently running an earlier unRAID Server OS 5.0-beta or 5.0-rc release: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Probably the best thing to do is backup your Flash, reformat, re-install, restore 'config' directory, and then reboot. I see you are actually running v5rc16c, but the point is what you need is the 'config' directory from your existing flash drive. However, if there's some problem "lurking" in the config directory then you might find yourself back at square one. At my level of expertise, I suggest you go slowly, backup/document the existing system. Try and fix what you have now and then upgrade; v5rc16c was very stable.
August 30, 201312 yr Author Ok, going back to the stock go file gets me back in to unraid, which is a positive! Will have a further investigate to see if I can get to the bottom of the problem
