August 31, 201312 yr Hi does anybody know what the latest firmware for Seagate 3TB ST3000DM001 is? The reason why I'm asking is because I recently noticed some weird sounds coming from the drives.. related to the drive head parking. I checked with hdparm and my drives have different firmware versions. CC27, CC44, and CC24. Which is the latest? Also does anybody know if the latest firmware fixes this issue? I have never updated firmware on my hard drives before and I'm wondering how to do this. Do i need to update the firmware on my desktop or can I do this on my server? Any info / help wanted, and appreciated

August 31, 201312 yr Well, I think so...at least that was the info from half a year ago and CC24 was the latest FW for that model. With you having 5 drives with 3 different FWs already, things might have changed....google is your friend.
