outdated e2fsprogs (fsck, etc) for ext filesystems

Featured Replies

I'm using unRAID 5.0-rc5 with ext4 filesystems. (Yes, I know that is not officially supported.)

The e2fsprogs that comes with unRAID, which includes fsck, is much older than the kernel being used. This could lead to issues down the road during filesystem recovery.

I found this issue because I just encountered the same problem described here:

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/linux.kernel/A5uslJG5eEI

From my system:

root@atlas:/# cat /etc/unraid-version

version=5.0-rc5

root@atlas:/# e2fsck -V

e2fsck 1.41.11 (14-Mar-2010)

Using EXT2FS Library version 1.41.11, 14-Mar-2010
