Mover not moving movies

Featured Replies

I just upgraded to 5.0 official release.  Everything had been working fine.  I just happen to notice that my movies are not moving from the cache drive to the array.  I had some tv shows on the cache drive and they moved fine, but the movie I had on there did not move at all.  The log doesn't seem to help me very much but here it is:

Sep 1 10:49:32 Tower logger: mover started

Sep 1 10:49:32 Tower logger: moving Movies/

Sep 1 10:49:32 Tower logger: skipping appdata/

Sep 1 10:49:32 Tower logger: mover finished

Any Ideas?

I have the exact same problem. Were you able to resolve it ?

Cheers

That's interesting that you are having the same problem.  I never did figure it out.  I just changed the settings so that my movie share no longer uses the cache drive.  I noticed that it only would not move larger movies (ie blu ray), the smaller files it did move over.  I don't think it has anything to do with how my share is configured, but I'd be open to try anything out.

I know for a fact that the problem is due to me. I've been playing around with permissions and turning on and off cache drive usage. Things is now my apps dont move the files to their respective folders on the media share.

One thing I read on another tread is about the mount /mnt/user0 .It contains folders or copies of my two shares (Media and Documents) but not the Apps share I have setup on the cache drive. This might be a hint towards a solution

I think I might delete the Apps share and start from scratch.

A cache-only share will not be moved.

On mine, I hadn't changed anything except upgrade to version 5.  It definitely wasn't a cache only share.  I'll have to mess around with it some more when I get time and if I figure anything out I will post it here.

The mount /mnt/user0 is automatically created by unRAID when the array starts.  It will show you shares omitting any that are only on the cache drive.

It is not something you should normally need to even be aware of unless you are specifically trying to see what shares are on the main array and not the cache drive (or vice versa).

Make sure the names of the shares are all right, such as Movies vs movies vs Movie, etc?

Is it named differently on the cache drive?

Disable the cache drive for that share, copy some files (verify the work), then turn it back on again and try again, manually invoking the mover at the end if needed?

Sounds like chcking that /mnt/user0 might be helpful as well, since if "Movies" doesn't show up you have an issue.

Also, does the share "Movies" have any special settings for drives, only drive 3, or its trying to copy to an already full drive, etc, etc.

I assume the items stuck in the cache drive ARE listed and available on your Movies share along with everything else (they just aren't protected by parity since they never move)?
