[SOLVED] Performance terrible since V5 upgrade

A quick update. I received a new Intel PRO1000/GT PCI card and installed yesterday. I've not seen any problems thus far, fingers crossed, but will reserve judgement until I've had a week of stutter free streaming. I've also got more memory arriving tomorrow so will get SAB running again and see how it behaves.

I'm going to call success on this issue. I've had over a week of uninterrupted good performance since I installed the new Intel NIC. I've even got SAB and OpenSSH plugins installed and running again without adding any more memory or other changes. I will likely put the extra memory in to get a bit more headroom for the future.

So it seems that Realtek was the issue, what a shame that is what is built in to almost every mobo these days (except Intel ones I guess).

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and help.

... the over night parity check fixed 75 errors, is there any way to figure out which drive(s) were fixed?

The parity check only ever 'corrects' the parity drive.  If you perform a parity check while there's a dodgy data drive in your system, you will almost certainly lose data.

Supermicro also use Intel NICs.
