September 9, 201312 yr I believe it is this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005T3GRLY Is there better out there? I'm looking to buy 3 to make compressing BD ISOs faster. SSD is not an option due to the size of these.
September 9, 201312 yr Yes, that'll do nicely. It's 1TB/platter and 7200rpm => you won't get any better performance with current drives. ... although you CAN get 1TB SSDs http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147251 ... or even a 1.6TB unit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227773 I presume, however, that price is a bit of a factor (but that 2.8GB/s transfer rate sure would speed up your compressions !! ... assuming you have a CPU that can generate the data that fast)

That's just way too much though. I do use a 256GB SSD as a "temp" drive to ensure these won't be read/wrote to at the same time. I'll get the Seagates, thanks.
