September 12, 201312 yr I recently upgraded to UnRAID v5 (plus) and have had issues getting the network mapping working in Win 7. It worked fine in 4.5.4 and 4.7 but I cannot seem to get the server to map in v5 (previously just used the root username for access in windows). I can tell that the created share is working properly, because I have a Popcorn Hour media player on the network and am able to stream/access the files from the share (using the new username information). I am getting (Drive letter not accessible) Access denied error on the Windows PC (yes I created a user with the same credentials as the windows login I am using). Any suggestions?
September 12, 201312 yr First thing. You can not log onto any share using the user root. This was added in Ver5 to increase security. Second thing, it is necessary for you to run the New Permissions script which also a part of this security change. If you haven't done it. do it now. You will probably have to delete all of your windows credentials and create new ones to get things to work right.
