September 27, 201312 yr CouchPotato placed a file on my share and I cannot delete it. I'm on a Windows computer and I've tried logging in as anonymous and my user account. The share is configured as "Export: Yes; Security: Public". Any ideas what would be causing permission errors? Both SABNZBD and CouchPotato are running as user 'root'. Permissions on folder are the following Everyone - Special Perm (Read Only) root (Unix group\root) - Special Perm (Read Only) Console and webGui login account (FILESERVER\root) - Special Perm (EVERYTHING) I assume this is because the programs were running as root when they placed the file on the share. However, why would my share configuration not allow my user account or anonymous to delete the file.
September 27, 201312 yr because root owns the file. Connect via telnet and enter: newperms /mnt/path-to/file Use the correct path-to/file This will fix the file. Check in the couch potato forum for correct configuration information.
September 27, 201312 yr Author When I try to delete it says "you need permission FILESERVER\nobody" to make changes to this file (after running newperms cmd)
October 16, 201312 yr Author I'm still having issues deleting and changing files. Any recommendations to make software on the unraid server not break permissions?
October 16, 201312 yr I'm still having issues deleting and changing files. Any recommendations to make software on the unraid server not break permissions? See my thread about trouble deleting files from the past couple days. The solution worked and I had the same permission error. I also listed the location for the utility in another recent thread about read only shares. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk - now Free
October 16, 201312 yr Select Utils->New Permissions and let it run with the window open until it completes.
