[SOLVED] unRAID shutting down unexpectedly

Featured Replies

Hello all,

a few days ago I expanded my array by adding a new 2 TB drive (5 in total).

Since that time, I have experienced "random" shutdowns by the system.  Also, I cannot seem to access unMenu any longer.

I've read comments about power supply undersizing, etc., but seems there are conflicting thoughts about that.

My specs are below and syslog is attached.

thanks for any assistance!

The size of your power supply is fine; but the quality of the Corsair CX units is debatable ... after a couple of "interesting" experiences with them, I'm long-since quit using these units => the higher-end (HX and AX) Corsair units are very good (I use these a lot) ... the TX units are also good; but I'd stay away from the CX units.

No guarantee that's your issue ... but it's certainly a very likely reason.    I'd replace the PSU with a higher quality unit and see if that resolves the issue.

Thanks, Garycase.

Do you think the fact that I just added a new drive is anything to do with the situation, or is that a red herring?

Thanks, Garycase.

The new drive could have pushed the PSU over the edge.

Yes, I guess it did.  I replaced the PSU and it's working fine again.
