another appear for Email Notification

Featured Replies

I want to appeal to the author to implement some kind of email notification that allows for SMTP authentication.  I know there is a script around, but it does not currently work with my mail server.  This would make for a more commerical-grade system, as notification of failure is absolute required, especially for people like me that work offsite (and out of state).

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE implement this!

Regardless of smtp authentication is there any kind of email notification feature at all as of v4.4?

If not, the request is seconded for this functionality.

As of 4.4 there is no email notification of any kind.  There is a user script that allows for it, but works mainly for non-authentication SMTP servers.  The vast majority require authentication (makes sense).  Joe fixed it up to allow for some sort of authentication, but it does not support port 465 or something to that effect.  This port is used by some of the bigger SMTP servers (gmail).
