October 1, 201312 yr Hello, I'm newer to unRAID and just got things up and running last week actually. I was using an old drive for cache drive and it was having some issues / was way too slow, so today I was upgrading my cache drive to an SSD drive. Anyways, for whatever reason, after getting the SSD up and running as a cache drive I went to stop my array and it was hanging on unmounting. I went ahead and did hard shutdown by holding the power key as I wasn't getting anywhere. (In retrospect I should have tried a few command line options to cleanly stop things). Now that I reboot, unRAID comes up just fine on the computer its on and I can get to the command line, but thats it. No shares, can't putty in, etc. So looking around from the system its appearing to be that none of my drives are mounting successfully on startup. Nothing stands out to me in the log file. I've attached my syslog. Any ideas or directions to point me in I greatly appreciate the assistance from the community. Its almost like something is up with my USB drive? syslog2.txt
October 2, 201312 yr one or more of your add-ons is preventing a proper startup. (and shutdown) Disable them and the array will likely start and stop just fine.
October 2, 201312 yr Author I dug a bit further, tried a few more things... Thank you for the advice. I did try removing everything that it didn't seem to quite work. I was able to narrow it down to some specific config files on my USB drive. I copied everything off the drive and reformatted the USB and moved some back and got it working! No more panic here. :-) Thank you for all those who read the thread. I look forward to getting to know more people and being more active in the unRAID community in the future!
