SMB seems slower in 5.0 final

I have my PCH A300 setup to access shares on my unraid 5.0 final server. Upto 1080p mkvs this works pretty well. Playing Bluray rips get somewhat choppy. No sound breakups but video is not playing as fluently as from my QNap TS-639 or unraid Beta 12a server. When I access the same share through NFS playback is much better. What can be the problem?

 

I also have Serviio and SABNZB running. Can these cause this?

    NFS performs better than SMB with this equipment. Why not just use NFS?
