Sabnzbd crashing randomly - Unraid 5, SAB 0.7.16 + SickBeard

Featured Replies

hi all

been using Sickbeard/Sabnzbd combo flawlessly for last 3 years, i upgraded from Unraid 4.7 to 5.0rc16 when it came out then onto the final version with no problems.

4Gb RAM, n36l hp microserver

i used an old guide on the internet which was similar to this: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=Install_Python_based_servers

had no issues until about a week ago when my sabnzbd gui stopped working at random times in the day

sometimes it would work for about 10mins, but every NZB i downloaded it had missing parts to it, and other times the gui would die and i start it up again via telnet but when i clicked on status in sabnzbb i got this error:

500 Internal Server Error

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.

i initially fixed it by re-copying over version 0.7.16 src files which seemed to have worked but it came back today, i tried the same thing again but didn't fix it

as i thought my initial setup was corrupt somehow, i reinstalled fresh sab/sickbeard using the influencer files using this guide: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Setting_Up_SABnzbd,_SickBeard,_and_CouchPotoato#Using_the_Applications

i set up new sab/sickbeard using influcener and then i added existing shows to sickbeard (which somehow deleted most of my TV files!!!! :(, not to worry as i needed a tidy up anyway ), put the go script back to stock, renamed all the old SAB/SB folders.

a fresh new start and guess what?? about 30mins into my happiness, it did the same thing!

so heres me scratching my head, i did a memtest and it came back clear, i then did more googling and i read somewhere it was the python code that was at fault and to try another skin

so i moved from Plush (which ive been using since day 1) to smpl and so far it seems to have fixed it. i have re-downloaded the nzb which previous said had missing pars, but this time they worked fine

i dont have the unraid syslogs as i have rebooted about a millions times since the issue happened, but took the sab logs when it was happening which i have attached, not sure if its useful though

so my question is why is plush skin causing me issues? and how i can fix this?

I have the same issue but looks like cache_dir plugin is causing my crashing.

Just to follow up, have you seen this issue resurface since switching from Plush to smpl?  I'm having the same issue and it's driving me nuts.  If I let SNB go a long time like 8-10 hours without checking, it's guaranteed to have stopped. When I start it goes into new setup mode. So I have to always copy over the config file that I (thankfully) back up.

Sickbeard also randomly crashes and loads back up without my configs or TVDB which I've now also learned to backup so I can restore.
