Added new drive... Can't write to it/not part of the array

Featured Replies

Added an new 2tb drive to my 2x2tb array. When I installed it and did the parity check, it needed formatting, so did that. took all night. Now I see the drive in the array, and has a green ball, but is not being written to. The disk 2 (new) used space stays @ 2tb, while disk 1 keeps filling

Read the Wiki on allocation method.

You almost certainly have either "high water" or "fill-up" set ... so the system's not going to use the new disk until your current drive hits the point where it's time to switch.

You also said "can't write to it" => that should NOT be the case.

If you write to Disk2 (NOT to a share), it should absolutely write to that drive.  Is that not the case?
