Trouble deleting files since upgrade

Featured Replies

I recently upgraded to 5.0 Final, and have begun a task of fixing the tags on my music collection.  Through this process I am moving all of my music artist folders from one folder to another (cut/paste operation from a windows 7 computer).  Both folders are on the same physical disk only (IE this is not actually moving the data from one physical drive to another).

most of the time I am having difficulties.

Cut / paste usually on the first attempt says "You need permission to perform this action"  and then "You require permission from TODD-SVR\nobody to make changes to this file.

Usually if i wait long enough and try again, the cut/paste will go through.  However I simply cannot delete anything (some files are redundant).

I have no idea who "nobody" is other than just what it says.  There is no userid called "nobody"  I have checked my user share permissions and everything is correct.  I have occasionally had problems with deleting files but it usually is saying the file is open, not a permission error.  This is different and isn't correcting with a reboot.

I have attached a syslog.  my profile in my signature is current and up to date.

you need to run the new permissions after upgrading

I just looked and seem to recall running that during one of my past upgrades (or something like it).  I definitely did not after going to 5.0 and so doing it now.

seems to have done the trick, THANKS!

Of course I still get the "file is open in another program" at times.  don't supposed you have a fix for that too??
