I'd like to install unraid onto a HD, but am not confident in my ability to hack in a replacement kernel (and all the other steps I found outlined in the wiki, wchich I've already read)

So I was wondering if anyone keeps/has copies of unraid (for any recent version) installed and ready to use (so other's don't have to go through all the lengthy steps)

Why?  What do you think that gains you?  You still are dependent on the flash GUID, so you can't get rid of the  flash.

I should explain my situation further:

I want to run unRAID as an XEN guest OS. Because of that, I do not have the ability to boot from a USB device (and even if I did, only USB 1.1 devices are currently supported, so transfer speeds are really slow)

So booting off a HD would help me run the OS, and I could still read the GUID off a flash drive since I can access it from the guest OS.
