can osx spotlight index unraid shares?

I was very excited to hear about the new tagging feature in OSX Mavericks but that excitement quickly faded when I realized that I was unable to search tagged files stored on my unraid shares.  Turns out that you can only use tagging on files that are indexed by spotlight.  SO does anybody know if it is possible to index files on unraid user shares with spotlight on OSX Mavericks?

    Search on Apple forums. UnRAID is no different from any other server supporting SMB and/or AFP in this regard.
