October 27, 201312 yr Hello everyone, This is my first unraid setup and everything has gone smoothly thus far. I got unraid up and running and I formatted and assigned my drives. The parity sync is just finishing up but I've decided that I rather be safe than sorry and would like to preclear. Would I just unassign the drives and pre clear? Does that interfere with the parity sync at all? I know I'm doing things a little backwards so I want to make sure I don't destroy something in the process. Thanks in advance!
October 27, 201312 yr If you want to pre-clear the drives, you'll be simply starting over. Just Stop the array; unassign all of the drives; then do a "New Config" and don't assign any drives. Then you can run the pre-clear script on all of the drives to thoroughly test them ... and THEN you can create your new configuration.
