[SOLVED] Upgrade to 3T or 4T;--- Thanks you Gary!

Featured Replies

Hello all,

My current server code name, "Chopstick" have been runnning for a long while, 3-4 years ago.

The only problem was last year I have a red ball. Fix that, and now every thing running ok.

Chopstick have been running 5.0-beta6a since day 1.

Some time latter I purchased a license copy of 6 slots.

I would like to upgrade from 5.0-beta6a so that I can use 3T or 4T.

What is the next upgrade version from 5.0-beta6a ? and how to proceed ?

also would standard preclear works with 3T or 4T ?

Thanks for help

You should upgrade to the v5.0 final release.

First, run a parity check to confirm everything is okay (you should have zero sync errors => if not, then run it a 2nd time to be sure everything was corrected okay).

Then upgrade to v5.0 by following the instructions provided by Limetech:

... If you are currently running an earlier unRAID Server OS 5.0-beta or 5.0-rc release:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Probably the best thing to do is backup your Flash, reformat, re-install, restore 'config' directory, and

  then reboot.

==>  After you've done the upgrade, run another parity check to ensure everything is still okay.

You can pre-clear your disks using Joe L's pre-clear utility ... but be sure you're using the most current version => you can download it using the link at the bottom of the first post here:  http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=2817.0

After you've finished with the pre-clears, the FIRST thing you should do is replace your parity disk with one of your new 3 or 4TB disks.    After that's done, do yet-another parity check to ensure all went well.    THEN you can add the additional pre-cleared data drives.

Done  :)
