October 31, 201312 yr Hi. I Think I need some help. I have a 4 disk Array + chache. After upgrading (copying bzimage & bzroot + restart) from 4.7 to 5.0 (stable) , my disks are in the right order but have changed one step, so that sda is now missing, previous parity sda is now sdb, previous disk1 sdb is now sdc, previous disk2 sdc is now sdd, previous disk3 sdd is now sde and previous cache sde is now sdf. Dare i start the Array?
October 31, 201312 yr It could change on any reboot. unRAID keeps track of your disks by serial number, not the order in which they were initialized.
October 31, 201312 yr Author Thanks. Got me scared a bit. Restarted Array and it all came back ok (i Think).
October 31, 201312 yr The designations of the disk don't matter; only the assignments ==> just so the correct disk is assigned to the parity slot all will be fine. Sounds like you've started it okay, so I'm sure all is good.
