I won't be running any CPU/memory intensive plugins just a file server.  Will this setup run correctly?

It'll work fine.

However ... I'd make 2 changes:

(a)  Buy 2 of the memory modules for a total of 4GB

(b)  If you think there's any chance you'll ultimately want to virtualize your server, go with a Xeon instead of the Pentium.

But it will work fine as is if you are certain it's simply going to be a bare metal file server.

My plan was to go with 2 sticks of ram and now I won't be virtualizing.  Is too bad ASRock didn't have a supported ram list for this board.

With 4GB you'll have an excellent system with that board.    Note that not all Pentiums support ECC, but the G3220 is one that does, so it's an excellent choice.    Should be a VERY reliable setup that will last a long time.

I didn't even think to check for ECC support on the CPU, thanks for bringing that to my attention even tho it already supported it.  I'll file that little tidbit away for future builds.

Well placed the order using shoprunner 2-day shipping hopefully it will get her Friday so I can put it together and start stress testing before I start mid nights Friday night.

Hello,

Other configuration is good but i think you should extend ram up to 4GB because of getting more speed and space...
