Memtest 101 Questions

Featured Replies

I'd like to run some diagnostics on my current server memory, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. The wiki makes it seem like this test should be an option that I can select when the server initially boots up, but I'm not physically by my machine for the next few days. Also I see Memtest86 reports thrown around this forum a lot, but that appears to be separate software I'd need to install?

Am I correct in assuming there's some default memtest program bundled with unRAID 5.0? Sub-question, is there any way of running these memtests remotely over telnet?

Many thanks for your patience and wisdom in advance.

Memtest is indeed part of the basic load => it's an option you can choose when you boot.  You do, of course, need to have a console and keyboard on the server to choose it, however.
