November 9, 201312 yr When I do \\tower\disk1, inside it is a folder names apps. I guess this was installed due to Plex. Instead, when I open Putty, and cd to mnt/disk1, I can see all my folders such as TV/ Movies1... Hope someone can shed some light.
November 10, 201312 yr If you happened to name it Disk1, capitalizing the D, unraid and any linux OS will treat it as a separate directory from disk1, but windows will see it as one and will show the contents of the first one that it "finds". Not sure if that's what is going on here, can't see the pictures too good on my phone.
November 10, 201312 yr Naming a User share "disk1" is a bad idea. This share already exists by default and the name will conflict with the existing Disk share named "disk1". Call the share "Disk1A" or something. The name "disk1" is already being used.
November 11, 201312 yr Author Hello All, Thanks for the inputs. Exactly, Windows sees the disk1 share, with an apps folder inside. It doesn't see the mnt/disk1 wherein there are .sabnzbd, .sickbeard, etc folders. Right now, I don't know how to delete the disk1 share as I didn't create it. I tried to do delete apps folder by issuing rm -rf apps, and it does delete. When I go to the share properties, it still says not empty. When I reboot, it reappears. Since apps inside disk1 is never deleted, I can't delete the disk1 share. I suspect the apps folder inside the disk1 share was created when I installed Plex, and when it asked for Library, I might have put inside the path of /mnt/disk1? I'm not in front of the computer, and can't verify. Therefore, it created a share named disk1, and a folder inside named apps, inside of which is another Plex folder, with Plex files. Then, another question will be, how do I uninstall Plex for the time being? It was installed via PlexUpdater.
November 13, 201312 yr Author I've successfully uninstalled Plex. I did it by removing the Plex*****.plg in the flash drive, deleted the disk1 folder with app folder inside, inside of which Plex is found. I then rebooted the server. I don't see the disk1 share already. My problem right now is I don't see disk1 in my Windows Explorer already. Though when I do a telnet session, I can manage it still. I can also see it in unraid main, and access the files inside. Which is the problem now? Is it my windows? Or is it still unraid?
November 13, 201312 yr did you try typing \\tower\disk1 in windows explorer? the disk shares may be set to hidden.
November 13, 201312 yr The "share settings" for the disks are not on the Shares page. From Main, click on the disk to get the settings for that disk. Then you can set the share settings for that disk.
November 15, 201312 yr Author mr-hexen, trurl, Thanks for your help. I was staring at the pages where shares are mentioned, but I guess I'm not really looking. SMB export is set to No. Thanks for the help guys.
