[Solved] Assistance needed - added new hd but shares are not using it

Featured Replies

First off, apologies, but I'm new to Unraid so this might be somewhat of a basic question.

I recently added a new hard drive to my array (using the latest 5.x build).  I have added the drive letter (sdf) to each of my shares, but it does not seem to be using the new drive.

I currently have the shares setup for the following: "most free", split level 2.  I tried switching to high-water, but it didn't help.  The mover continues to move files from my cache drive to the original two drives.

It's not an emergency at this point, but I do want to ensure that when the original drives become full that it starts filling up the new drive.

Thank you for the assistance.

Sdf is the wrong disk identifier to use in the include section of a share. Use disk1......5 instead.

Is the mover moving data to existing folders such as adding an episode to a TV show? If so your split level settings are causing this to happen by design. Try a completely new folder or TV show.

Thank you Hexen.

Yes, the mover is moving data to existing folders (Television, Movies, HD Movies).  Do I have any options than to create new folders?

Modifying the included drives to the proper syntax fixed the issue.

Thank you for the support.

If all disks are being used you can leave the include field empty.
