November 16, 201312 yr the webgui was extremely slow and sluggish on 5.0.1 - reverting to 5.0 immediately resolved this for me. FYI. Any plug-ins? Could it be related to the fact that you appear to be running in a virtual environment? I'm not saying that there isn't a problem, although I haven't seen any, but there could be other factors at work. no plugins, not even the new webgui - completely vanilla. i'll chalk it up to a bad compile of my custom xen kernel, will wait for 5.0.2 to try again! ------------------------ Also please dont go for an RC on a .0x update, just release it.

The WEBGUI is the new webgui from github you install afterwards.
November 17, 201312 yr Is there something 'up' with the download server? I can't download 5.0, 5.0.1 or 5.0.2rc, they all fail a few seconds into the download. Cheers

Cheers Other people have reported this from time-to-time. I just downloaded 5.01 and it took 22 seconds. The download subdomain is hosted by midPhase. In talking with their tech support, all they say in essence is "looks good to us". I'll take this up with them again tomorrow.
November 17, 201312 yr Release 5.0.2-rc1 is different only in that smartmontools was upgraded to 6.2 per user request. Seems to work. I don't really like doing these -rc's on patch releases - what do you think, necessary? Thank you very much Tom for upgrading the smartmontools version! I don't really like doing these -rc's on patch releases - what do you think, necessary? I would drop the 'rc', it's clearly label as minor release/patch by the versioning. P.S> no issues downloading the files.
November 17, 201312 yr For me the download aborts within 5 or 6 seconds. It shows like the download was finished, but the file is just a few megabytes big (different size every time). A separate problem for me is that when browsing the forum, pages timeout if I click on a link with less than 30 seconds of waiting after the previous page. I am in the Chicago area if that helps the troubleshooting. I'm having this problem with limetech's forum only, and not with any other web site. And, the problem is not only from my home, but also from work, and also when I hook a laptop to a public wifi like in a coffee shop etc.

I'd be happy to offer a mirror with unlimited transfer and a few GB space. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Hey Tom, I've slept on it, but this morning still no joy, and like Finka, no issues with other sites. I haven't tried from other locations though. Will see if I can get to my sisters today and try from there. Edit: Im in Australia

November 17, 201312 yr The two problems I described above appear to not be DNS related, as the same things happen when I access the site by IP address.
November 18, 201312 yr It's definitively not a dns issue, and it's not new, even on the day Tom posted them I did also had same problem getting incomplete download file, but tried a few times and finally got complete files, matching posted md5. If it helps anyone I did mirrored it at some servers I manage for a downloads site: US: http://108.59.9.27/unRAID/ DE: http://46.165.245.161/unRAID/ NL: http://95.211.162.129/unRAID/
November 18, 201312 yr i had the same issue... as finka used a download manager to get the complete download (flashget)
November 18, 201312 yr I have also had the same download problems in OZ took nearly 15 attempts to get it down.

I'm up and running, with my config as it was on 4.7(see below) Cheers Edit, Of course 10 mins after getting it all set up on v5, it downloads no problem, :'(
