elmetal
Hey guys This is my current setup 880GM-LE FX with a X4 965 BE processor. I know the processor supports AMD-V, I am not 100% sure on the mobo. the closest I could find was: http://www.manualowl.com/m/ASRock/880GM-LE-FX/Manual/268491?page=45 It mentions AMD-V am looking to move my unraid to a ESXi setup. thanks Quote Link to comment
Ford Prefect
AMD-V alone is not enough. You'll be in need for a chipset that supports IOMMU. AFAIK this is only available in 970 chipsets and above (and you'll need a BIOS to support is as well). Quote Link to comment
dirtysanchez
You can always search through the BIOS to see if there's a setting to enable AMD-V and/or IOMMU. Beyond that, trying to load ESXi and seeing if you can pass through hardware is about the only way to know for sure. Quote Link to comment
elmetal
any recommendations on mobos if this one turns out to not work? I'm gonna be home in mid december and I have 2 weeks to try and hash this out. should be enough time I reckon. Quote Link to comment
dirtysanchez
Other mobos to utilize your existing CPU or other mobos period? As I replied in your other post Supermicro mobos are a great choice. Quote Link to comment
Ford Prefect
...check this thread: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=22553.0 for AMD based options. Quote Link to comment
