November 18, 201312 yr I am trying to install Media Browser Theater and the installation needs the IP address and media server port number. The IP address is no problem, but I have no clue as to what the port number is. I tried using 8080 (required for Joe's unMenu package), but t here were installation problems later on. So, did I use the wrong port number or are there other problems. A search provided little help.
November 19, 201312 yr In Media Browser Theater... Look in Tools... on the Dashboard... in the section called, 'server information'. are the default ports 8099 and 8945? This site has more details: http://community.mediabrowser.tv/permalinks/13725/setup-and-configure-mb3-server-part-1---tools
November 19, 201312 yr Author Thanks for info. That was my problem. I have not used Plex but MBT is a lot easier to install and configure, and I like the user interface a lot better. People over at the AVS forum have high praises for the just released program (It is an alpha release with much more to come). However, I don't think there is a way to install the server app on a Linux machine. That was the problem I was having. I was trying to run MBT without the server and there was no way to browse to my media library (unRaid). I had to install it on my Win 8 machine before I could get MBT to work.
