[Solved] Trying to upgrade from 4.7 to 5.0.3 but having issues -- Please help!

Featured Replies

Okay,

I followed the instructions for upgrading from 4.7 to 5.03.  Backed up my flash, reformatted, unzipped 5.0.3 onto the flash, copied my config files over, etc.

So I got to the part where I power  up, and that appeared to go fine.  But when I connect to the new webGUI, this is where my problems begin.  First, there is no start button or status indication that the instructions say should be there.  Not that I would want to start, as it is only showing 14 drives and my array has 16 drives.  Also, all the devices seem to have changed.  On the 14 discs showing, serial numbers and drives match, but the sde, sdf, sdg, etc have all changed from what they were previously.

Is that okay?  Why am I not seeing a start button or status on the main page?  If I go to Utils|PageMap|ArrayStatus, then it does show the status and start button, but it does not from Main.

Whats going on here and what should I do?

You can see the inventory clearly lists 18 drives, 16 data, plus parity, plus cache.  Yet the webgui shows parity plus 14 data drives.  No cache and the last two data don't show in the GUI.  If I pull down the drive box, it gives me the option of changing to no device, or selecting my cache drive.

I just tried reformatting the flash drive again and installing just 5.0 in case 5.0.3 was bugged.  Same thing, log file shows 16 data drives, but webgui shows 14.  No array status on main page.

  • Author

Okay,

I went with a stock install of 5.0; didn't install any of my cfg files, license file, nothing.  Now the webgui appears to start as normal.  So something somewhere in there is tripping it out when I copy over from 4.7 to 5.0.

Apparently it is something wrong with my Pro Key.  All I did was copy the key over and my GUI screen went to this:

AtHlCUj.jpg

Looks like Sendori malware is installed on the PC.

  • Author

Well, I'll have to get that off and try again.  Looks like it was installed on 11/24, but I never installed it.  I run Malwarebytes Pro, but it didn't detect Sendori with a scan or with its real time detection.  Go figure.

  • Author

Looks like sendori was the problem.  It was hijacking the webGUI.

I'm running 5.0.3 now, and everything appears to be working normally.  Now off to find some deals on 4TB HDD's!
